About this site
Contact

This site has been created by enthusiasts to compile information and memorabilia on the Norddeutscher-Lloyd ocean liner the MS Berlin.

Originally built and named as the Gripsholm in 1924 for the Swedish American Line, she was renamed in 1954 when bought by NDL. She then spent the majority of her lifetime crossing between Bremerhaven, Germany and New York with occasional cruises until eventually being scrapped at in 1966.

On this site you will find images including publicity photographs, snapshots of life on board and deckplans plus the little I have found about her history.

- Rare video footage onboard the Berlin's previous identity as The Gripsholm has been made available by the Swedish TV company SVT. I've managed to find 9 clips related to the ship although some were obviously meant to function as promotional films for locations rather than the ship. See all the films here and click on the little monitor icon in the bottom right corner to view at full screen.

- New brochure with hi-res images coming soon. Previews are visible on the left, larger versions will soon be available.

- Link to NDL on Wikipedia added on links page
